HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A PILOT CERTIFICATE FOR HELICOPTERS?
The answer to that question depends on your goals. If you are interested in gaining a Private Pilot Certificate in a Helicopter it usually takes about 4-6 weeks, depending on your flying skills and personal learning abilities. We offer accelerated courses for people that normally wouldn’t have the time to get a pilot license. Please contact us for more information.

HOW MUCH DOES THE PROGRAM COST?
A Private Pilot license in helicopter will cost you between 13-15K, depending on your flying skills and learning ability. Heli Aviation is an affordable flight school with connections to aviation funding sources that can help you finance your pilot certificates. We are dedicated to helping as many folks as possible, who are “seriously” committed to earning a pilot certificate.

IS THERE FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?
The short answer is yes. The long answer is: there are several types of financial aid that Heli Aviation can help you acquire to fund your schooling. There are State and Federal Grants, Federal Student Loans, Private Educational Loans, and financing options through pilotfinance.com.

DOES HELI AVIATION HAVE JOB PLACEMENT AS A PART OF THE PROGRAM?
Yes. What we do is help you find and apply for the kind of employment opportunities you are looking for in your aviation career. We have many connections in the industry and all our expertise and knowledge is available to our Alumni to make sure they achieve their Aviation career goals. Some candidates may be considered for a pilot position with Heli Aviation, depending on the season, your character, flying skills, and attitude.

WHAT IS THE FIRST STEP TO GETTING STARTED WITH MY FLIGHT TRAINING?
To get started, please fill out the application form and submit it to info@heliaf.com, along with a copy of your passport or birth certificate. Please note, that we consider fully completed forms only. We will review the information you provide and contact you to walk you through your options, answer any of your questions and help you get your career in aviation started!

I HAVE NEVER FLOWN BEFORE. HOW DO I KNOW THIS IS SOMETHING FOR ME?
We offer introductory flying lessons starting at $159.  This is the perfect opportunity to gain actual flight time and see whether or not you would like to pursue a future in aviation. This package includes 15-20 minutes of ground instruction and  1/2- or 1-hour of flight time over the beautiful Florida coastline!

DOES HELI AVIATION PROVIDE STUDENT HOUSING?
We have worked out special rates with nearby hotels and apartment complexes and you can find more information on our student housing page.

AM I REQUIRED TO PAY IN FULL PRIOR TO STARTING MY TRAINING?
No! Heli Aviation only requires a $250 application fee. You can choose between our pay-as-you-go service or make down payments between $5-20k (or more) to qualify for our block-rate discount of $5-20 per flight hour, which will ultimately add up to several hundreds or even thousand of dollars in savings.

WHAT TYPE OF JOBS ARE OUT THERE FOR PILOTS?
Helicopters are extremely versatile and used as a tool for Fire Fighting, Electronic News Gathering (ENG), Aerial Survey, Executive Transport, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Power line and Pipeline Patrol, Wild Life Protection, Aerial Crane, Sightseeing Tours, Aerial Filming, Photography and more. Pilots tend to fly for multiple types of work throughout their extensive careers.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO START TRAINING AND OBTAIN MY LICENSE?
The FAA requires a student to be 17 years to receive a Private Pilots license. At Heli Aviation, we expect a student to be professional, mature and willing to dedicate your full focus on flying!
