Book A Tour

4-Week Private Pilot

This course was designed for people that normally wouldn‘t have the time to get a private pilot license. By taking our 4-week total immersion flight training program, you will learn everything you need to know to get your private pilot certificate. For the entire four weeks your focus will be directed to flying. This course was designed under the consideration of previous flight training applicants average finishing times, ultimately helping us determine a realistic time frame necessary to complete.

Due to the unique time constraints of this program, we don‘t expect you to solo until the second week, however, we‘ll work hard and push you to your limits to achieve your daily goals. While we can‘t absolutely guarantee your completed certificate in four weeks, as student skills and personal learning ability vary from person to person, and external factors like weather conditions are somewhat beyond our control. Regardless, if you require more time to finish your certificate, we will work with you as long as it takes to become a private pilot if you show the motivation and desire to work with your instructor. All additional or extra training time will be billed separately to the regular published rates.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
1st Week
2nd Week
3rd Week
4th Week
1st WEEK: The student will be introduced to helicopters and become familiar with the aerodynamic principles of flight which affect their operation. The student will also obtain a basic knowledge of the safety of flight, airports and heliports, airspace, radio communications, and air traffic control services, including the use of radar. In addition, the student will learn how to predict performance and control weight and balance conditions of the helicopter. During the flight lessons, the student becomes familiar with the training helicopter and learns how the helicopter controls are used to establish and maintain specific flight attitudes.
2nd WEEK: The student will become familiar with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) as they apply to private pilot operations. You will learn how to procure weather information and interpret printed reports and graphic weather products. In addition, you will learn about aeronautical charts, flight computers, pilotage, dead reckoning, and flight information sources. During the flight lessons, the student will expand the skills learned in the previous week and learn proper aeronautical decision making, as well as gain an insight into emergency situations, including retreating blade stall, dynamic rollover, ground resonance, low G conditions, low RPM blade stall, LTE, settling-with-power, straight-in and turning autorotations, and more. At the end of the second week, and after safely demonstrating selected maneuvers and sound judgment in the aircraft, you get to do something you will remember for the rest of your life; fly solo for the first time.
3rd WEEK: Introduction of maximum performance takeoffs and climbs, steep approaches, running takeoffs/landings, shallow approaches, and slope operations prepare the student for conducting flights at a variety of airports and heliports. During that time, the student will expand the skills learned in the previous week, including proficiency in emergency procedures. You will gain an understanding of the physiological factors which can affect both pilot and passengers during flight. In addition, the student will learn how to conduct comprehensive preflight planning for cross-country flights and gain insight into factors affecting the decision-making process. You will learn to conduct cross-country flights using pilotage, dead reckoning, and radio navigation. In addition, you will learn how to conduct night operations safely. Once you're proficient with all aspects of emergency procedures and x/c operations, you will be completing your three hours of "solo" cross-country requirements.
4th WEEK: Once you have completed the dual night, solo and cross country requirements, you will take an in-house Stage Check, at which our chief instructor will simulate an actual practical exam, and go with you over all aspects of the oral questioning. Once our chief instructor decides that you meet all private pilot Practical Test Standards (PTS), your assigned instructor will sign you off for the FAA practical test, also known as a checkride with an FAA-designated examiner. When you successfully complete the checkride, you will be a private pilot and receive your license within 90-days. The temporary license will be issued immediately, and is valid for 120-days, until your hard card arrives in the mail.
